Samsung has officially taken the wraps off the Galaxy Watch9 at its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event. While the design remains largely familiar, the new smartwatch gets meaningful upgrades where they matter most. From Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon Wear Elite processor to a brighter display and a bunch of new AI powered health features, Samsung is clearly focusing on making the Watch9 smarter rather than completely redesigning it.
The smartwatch is available in 40mm and 44mm sizes. In India, the 40mm Bluetooth model is priced at Rs. 37,999, while the LTE version costs Rs. 41,999. The 44mm variant starts at Rs. 40,999 for Bluetooth and goes up to Rs. 44,999 with LTE support. Buyers can choose from Graphite and Cream on the 40mm model, while the larger version comes in Graphite and Silver.
Samsung has retained the Super AMOLED Always On Display, but brightness now goes up to 3,000 nits, making the screen easier to read outdoors. Under the hood, the smartwatch is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage. It runs Wear OS 7 with One UI 9 Watch on top.
Health tracking is once again a big part of the experience. The Galaxy Watch9 gets Samsung's new BioActive Sensor, which combines heart rate, ECG and body composition tracking into a single module. New AI backed features such as Heart Health Score, Fitness Index, Daily Cardio Load, Vitals and an improved Sleep Apnea feature aim to offer more personalised health insights instead of just raw data.
The smartwatch packs a 445mAh battery on the 44mm model and a 390mAh battery on the 40mm version. It supports fast wireless charging and offers LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, dual band Wi-Fi, NFC and dual frequency GPS. Samsung has also introduced new Sports, Misty and Fabric watch bands, while buyers in eligible markets will get 60 days of Strava Premium and a two month iFIT trial at no extra cost.
