Samsung has taken the wraps off the Galaxy Watch Ultra2, its newest flagship smartwatch, at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event. While it looks quite similar to the previous model, Samsung has focused on improving what is inside. The biggest change this year is the move to Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset, replacing the Exynos processor used in earlier Galaxy watches. The company says the new chip delivers faster performance while also improving power efficiency.
The smartwatch is available in a single 47mm size and features a rugged design aimed at outdoor users. It sports a 1.52 inch Super AMOLED display that can reach 5,000 nits of peak brightness, making it much easier to view under direct sunlight. The display also gets Sapphire Crystal protection for added durability.
Health and fitness remain at the heart of the Galaxy Watch Ultra2. Samsung has equipped the smartwatch with an upgraded BioActive Sensor, along with support for Sleep Apnea detection, heart rate tracking, blood oxygen monitoring and personalised wellness insights. It also includes ECG, temperature, barometer, gyroscope and several other sensors to provide a more complete picture of your health.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is backed by an 800mAh battery and supports wireless charging. It runs Wear OS 7 with One UI 9 Watch and comes with 2GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Connectivity options include LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, dual band Wi Fi, NFC and GPS. Samsung has also given the smartwatch IP69K, 10ATM and MIL STD 810H ratings, making it suitable for demanding environments.
In India, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is priced at Rs. 64,999 and will go on sale from August 4. Buyers can choose between Titanium Gray and Titanium Silver, with multiple strap options including Marine, PeakForm, Trail, Sports, Misty and Fabric bands.
