Gameplay videos and story spoilers from the highly anticipated game have surfaced online ahead of its February 27 launch. In response, Capcom has acknowledged the leaks, urged fans not to share or view the content, and warned that it will take “appropriate action” against those posting unauthorised footage.

“Posting gameplay videos prior to the game's release not only constitutes copyright infringement but also offends other customers. We will take appropriate action, such as deleting or issuing warnings, upon discovery.”
Capcom also urged users to avoid watching or sharing the leaked videos to prevent spoilers.
Story Details Remain Tightly Guarded
The developer stated that Resident Evil Requiem aims to deliver a narrative filled with “mystery and suspense", featuring “unknown threats and challenges". Capcom warned that leaked footage could significantly spoil the intended experience for players.

The game is the ninth main entry in the Resident Evil franchise and has dual protagonists: FBI agent Grace Ashcroft and fan-favourite returning character Leon S. Kennedy. The title mixes old-school survival horror with action-based gameplay.
Release Platforms and Launch Date
Resident Evil Requiem is due out on February 27 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch 2. Though Capcom has tried to keep the story a mystery, leaked retail copies seem to have made their way out into the wild and allowed for early gameplay as well as endgame spoilers.
