Redmi Pad 2 has quietly made its debut in global markets, bringing a familiar mix of budget-friendly pricing and solid everyday features. The tablet has been introduced in Malaysia and Singapore for now, and it comes in two clean-looking finishes, Graphite Gray and Silver.

Pricing And Variants

The company has kept things fairly simple with multiple storage and connectivity options. The Wi-Fi-only variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage starts at MYR 549 (roughly Rs. 13,000). If you want more storage, the 128GB version is priced at MYR 599 (around Rs. 14,000).

For those who need connectivity on the go, the 4G variants are also available. The 4GB + 64GB model costs MYR 649 (about Rs. 16,000), while the 4GB + 128GB version is priced at MYR 699 (approximately Rs. 17,000).

Display That Stands Out

One of the more noticeable highlights here is the display. The Redmi Pad 2 features a 9.7-inch 2K screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1280 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling and casual gaming feel smooth. There’s also up to 240Hz touch sampling and 500 nits peak brightness, so visibility shouldn’t be an issue indoors or in moderate lighting.

Xiaomi has also added TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free usage, and circadian-friendly viewing, which basically means it’s easier on the eyes during long sessions.

Performance And Software

Under the hood, the tablet runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 chipset, built on a 6nm process. It’s paired with an Adreno 610 GPU, 4GB LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. If that’s not enough, you can expand it all the way up to 2TB using a microSD card.

On the software side, it ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, so you’re getting a relatively fresh experience out of the box.

Cameras And Battery

Cameras aren’t really the focus here, but you still get the basics covered. There’s an 8-megapixel rear camera for occasional shots and scanning documents, along with a 5-megapixel front camera for video calls. The tablet can record videos at 1080p at 30fps.

Battery life looks promising with a 7,600mAh unit, and it supports 18W fast charging. Add to that a dual speaker setup, and it seems designed for media consumption, casual work, and everyday use.

What It Really Offers

The Redmi Pad 2 doesn’t try to overdo things. Instead, it sticks to what matters for most users, a smooth display, reliable performance, and a battery that can last through the day. It feels like a straightforward option for students, casual users, or anyone looking for a no-nonsense tablet without spending too much.
