Xiaomi has officially launched the REDMI Note 17 Pro in China, and battery life is clearly the headline feature. The new mid range smartphone packs a massive 9,000mAh battery, but that's not the only thing Xiaomi is highlighting. The company has also focused on durability, display quality and a handful of AI backed features to help the phone stand out in a crowded segment.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro is already on sale in China and is available in Sky Blue, Nebula Purple, Black and White colour options.

Here's What the REDMI Note 17 Pro Brings
The phone sports a 6.83 inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a claimed peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Xiaomi says the panel can reduce brightness to just 1 nit in dark environments, while its Green Mountain eye protection technology is designed to make extended viewing more comfortable.
Under the hood, the REDMI Note 17 Pro is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Battery capacity is where the phone really grabs attention. Xiaomi has equipped it with a 9,000mAh battery and paired it with 67W fast charging. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging, meaning the phone can double up as a power bank for charging other compatible devices.
Photography duties are handled by a 50 megapixel main camera on the back, while selfies and video calls rely on an 8 megapixel front camera.
Xiaomi Is Putting Extra Focus on Durability
Unlike many phones in this price segment, the REDMI Note 17 Pro comes with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, giving it protection against dust, water immersion and even high pressure water jets. Xiaomi has also redesigned the phone with curved edges and a new rectangular camera island, giving it a slightly different look from previous REDMI Note models.
A Battery Promise That Goes Beyond the Warranty
Alongside the launch, Xiaomi has also announced a battery support programme for buyers in China. If the battery health drops below 80 percent during the first four years, the company will replace it free of charge.

The fifth year comes with an interesting twist. Instead of simply replacing the battery, Xiaomi says eligible users will receive a higher capacity battery upgrade if the battery health falls below 80 percent.
