Xiaomi has taken the wraps off the REDMI Note 17 in China alongside the REDMI Note 17 Pro. While the Pro model brings the usual upgrades, the standard REDMI Note 17 is grabbing attention for a different reason. Xiaomi has packed it with a huge 7 inch display and an equally massive 8,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest phones in its segment.

The handset is already on sale in China and is available in Black, Light Aquamarine and Meteor Purple colour options.

Here's What the REDMI Note 17 Offers

The REDMI Note 17 sports a 7 inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness. Xiaomi has also included an in display fingerprint scanner and a glove mode, allowing the screen to respond even when users are wearing gloves.

Powering the phone is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor. While it isn't aimed at hardcore gamers, Xiaomi says it is capable of running popular MOBA titles smoothly.

Battery life is clearly one of the phone's biggest selling points. The REDMI Note 17 packs an 8,000mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can keep the phone running for up to two days on a single charge. It supports 45W fast charging and can also charge other devices with its 22.5W reverse wired charging feature.

Xiaomi Is Also Pushing AI Safety Features

Apart from the hardware, Xiaomi is also highlighting a number of AI powered security tools. The phone can reportedly recognise scam calls, warn users about potential fraud attempts and even detect AI generated deepfake video calls in real time.

There's also a new bank card protection feature designed to add an extra layer of security. For elderly users or family members who may need assistance, Xiaomi has included remote support tools that allow trusted contacts to help with tasks such as virus scanning, removing unwanted apps and optimising the phone remotely.
