Xiaomi has introduced a new budget offering, the Redmi A7 Pro, in select global markets. This one leans heavily into the basics people actually care about in this segment, a large screen, dependable battery life, and just enough modern features to keep things relevant. For now, there is no clarity on an India launch.

Price And Availability

The Redmi A7 Pro is available in two configurations, 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. It also comes in a mix of colours like Black, Mist Blue, Palm Green, and Sunset Orange, which adds a bit of personality compared to the usual budget phone palette.

A Display That Stands Out

The first thing that grabs attention is the size. Xiaomi has gone with a 6.9-inch HD+ display, which is noticeably larger than what you typically see at this price. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, so everyday scrolling and app navigation should feel smoother. Features like DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland eye comfort certifications are here as well, along with Wet Touch support that helps when your hands are slightly wet.

Performance And Software

Under the hood, the phone runs on the Unisoc T7250 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. It ships with Android 16 layered with HyperOS 3. Xiaomi is also bringing some AI tools into the mix, including Google Gemini and Circle to Search, which is interesting to see on a budget device.

Cameras And Battery

The camera setup keeps things simple. You get a 13-megapixel primary sensor on the back with an additional secondary lens, while the front houses an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Battery life looks like a strong point here. The 6,000mAh battery should comfortably last through a full day, and possibly longer depending on usage. Charging is capped at 15W, so it is more about endurance than speed.

Everyday Usability

Xiaomi has kept all the essentials in place. The phone supports dual 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and NFC. There is a USB Type-C port, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio, which many users still appreciate. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor handles security.

Overall, the Redmi A7 Pro does not try to do too much. It focuses on delivering a big display, reliable battery life, and a clean everyday experience. The bigger question now is whether Xiaomi decides to bring this one to India.
