Xiaomi has put the Redmi A7 4G series on sale in India just days after launch. At first glance, the Redmi A7 4G and Redmi A7 Pro 4G look almost identical, but the differences start to matter once you think about long-term use.

Price And Availability
The Redmi A7 4G starts at Rs. 10,999 for the 3GB + 64GB variant, while the Redmi A7 Pro 4G is priced at Rs. 11,999 for 4GB + 64GB. Both are listed slightly lower on Xiaomi’s website at Rs. 10,499 and Rs. 11,499.
They are available via Amazon, Flipkart, Xiaomi’s official store, and offline retail outlets. The base model comes in Black and Blue, while the Pro variant is offered in Black and Orange.
Same Foundation But A Slightly Different Experience
Both phones come with large displays and a 120Hz refresh rate, which is still a strong addition at this price. The Pro model gets a 6.9-inch panel with higher brightness, while the Redmi A7 4G has a slightly smaller 6.88-inch display with lower peak brightness.
Performance stays the same across both. You get the Unisoc T7250 chip, 64GB storage expandable up to 2TB, and support for virtual RAM. The only difference here is RAM, with 4GB on the Pro and 3GB on the standard model.
Where The Difference Actually Matters
The biggest gap shows up in software. The Redmi A7 Pro 4G runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and comes with a longer update cycle. The Redmi A7 4G runs Android 15-based HyperOS 2 and will get fewer updates over time.
If you plan to use the phone for a couple of years, this becomes a key factor.
Cameras And Basics Stay Simple
Both devices stick to a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It is a basic setup and matches expectations for this segment.
Other essentials like a fingerprint scanner, mono speaker, headphone jack, FM radio, and standard connectivity options are present on both phones.
Battery Gives The Pro Model An Edge
The Redmi A7 Pro 4G comes with a 6,300mAh battery, while the Redmi A7 4G has a 5,200mAh unit. Charging support remains the same at 15W, and both phones support reverse wired charging.

Which One Makes More Sense
Both phones cover the basics well, but the Pro model offers more where it actually counts. You get a bigger battery, slightly better display, more RAM, and longer software support.
The Redmi A7 4G works fine if you want to keep things simple, but the Pro version feels like the more practical pick if you are thinking beyond just day one usage.
