Oppo is getting ready to expand its K15 series with the launch of the standard Oppo K15. The smartphone will join the Oppo K15 Pro and Oppo K15 Pro+, which were introduced in China earlier this year. Ahead of the official unveiling, the company has already put up the handset on its Chinese online store, giving away most of the important details, including its design, specifications, storage options and colour variants.

Oppo K15 Launch Date Confirmed

Oppo has confirmed that the K15 will make its debut in China on July 24 at 10:00am local time (7:30am IST). The handset is already available for pre-orders in the country through the company's official online store.

The listing also reveals that the phone will be available in at least one 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. Buyers will be able to choose between two finishes called Gale Grey and Rapid White, with the names translated from Chinese.

Large Battery, Active Cooling and MediaTek Chipset

One of the biggest highlights of the Oppo K15 is its massive 8,000mAh battery, which is paired with 80W wired fast charging. Oppo is also bringing support for bypass charging, a feature that can help reduce heat during gaming by supplying power directly to the phone instead of continuously charging the battery. The handset will also include the company's Glacier Battery Energy Gathering chip.

Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super processor. Oppo has also confirmed that the chip will work alongside its Tidal Engine to deliver improved performance.

Just like the Pro models, the Oppo K15 will come equipped with an active cooling fan. The company is also including a large 4,950sq mm vapour chamber cooling system, which is designed to keep temperatures under control during demanding tasks such as gaming and extended multitasking.

Display, Cameras and Other Features

The Oppo K15 will feature a 6.59 inch flat display and carry an IP69 rating, making it resistant to dust and water.

For photography, the phone will sport a dual rear camera setup led by a 50 megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS). It will be accompanied by a 50 megapixel ultra wide camera, while selfies and video calls will be handled by a 50 megapixel front camera.

The smartphone will also support dual frequency GPS and three frequency BeiDou navigation for improved location tracking.

With most of its specifications now officially confirmed, the Oppo K15 has little left to reveal before its launch later this week in China. It remains to be seen whether Oppo plans to introduce the handset in other markets, including India.
