Oppo is getting ready for its next big flagship moment, and this time, the spotlight is clearly on cameras. The company has confirmed that the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will make its global debut on April 21, and it’s not coming alone. Alongside the global launch, Oppo will also host a dedicated event in China where another device, the Oppo Find X9s Pro, is expected to be unveiled.

This China event, branded as the Oppo x Hasselblad Imaging New Product Launch, will take place in Chengdu at 7pm local time (4:30pm IST). Both phones are already up for pre-orders in the country, which suggests Oppo isn’t holding much back ahead of the official reveal.

Oppo is clearly leaning into photography this time. The Find X9 Ultra is being teased with the line, “Your next camera is ready to launch,” and that pretty much sets the tone. It will feature a Hasselblad-tuned camera system, continuing Oppo’s collaboration with the imaging brand. Early details suggest the phone could include a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with a large sensor, along with a secondary 50-megapixel telephoto lens capable of up to 10x optical zoom.

There are also some design changes to watch out for. The Find X9 Ultra has been teased with a flat metal frame and a new orange button on the side, which could work similarly to the camera control button seen on the iPhone 16 lineup. It’s a small addition, but one that hints at a stronger focus on photography controls.

On the other hand, the Oppo Find X9s Pro is shaping up to be equally interesting. Teasers confirm that it will also carry a Hasselblad-branded camera system, headlined by a 200-megapixel main sensor and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. There’s also likely to be a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera completing the setup.

Beyond cameras, leaks point to a fairly strong overall package. The Find X9s Pro might have a 6.32-inch flat OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. The battery life could be one of the major strengths of the phone, with a 7,000mAh battery and 80W wired quick charging support. The phone might have wireless charging, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, a metal build, and IP68 and IP69 ratings.

Interestingly, Oppo hasn’t mentioned a standard Find X9s variant yet, which makes it seem like the Pro model could be the only one in that lineup for now.

As far as the Find X9 Ultra is concerned, Oppo has already announced that it will come with a battery capacity of more than 7,000mAh, which is a pretty high capacity battery in a flagship device. It is expected to support wireless charging as well.

Overall, as both these devices are placing a lot of emphasis on camera performance, battery capacity, and build quality, Oppo seems to be focusing on what is currently most important to flagship users around the world. More information will likely become available as we get closer to the launch event scheduled for April 21.
