Oppo could soon have another battery focused smartphone in the works. A new leak suggests the company is testing the Oppo A7 Pro Max, and if the information turns out to be accurate, the phone could arrive with a massive 10,000mAh battery. That would make it one of the biggest batteries ever seen on an Oppo A series device. Oppo hasn't said anything about the handset yet, but the leak also hints at its processor, display and camera setup.

Oppo A7 Pro Max tipped with a huge 10,000mAh battery

According to well known tipster Digital Chat Station, Oppo is working on what could become the first phone in its Green series to feature a 10,000mAh battery. That's a significant jump even by today's standards, especially when most smartphones still ship with batteries between 5,000mAh and 7,000mAh.

What's interesting is that the phone may not end up looking or feeling bulky. The leak claims it could measure 8.47mm thick and weigh around 226g, which is fairly reasonable for a device carrying such a large battery.

The battery isn't the only highlight. The handset is also tipped to support 80W fast charging, which should make topping up the battery much quicker than you'd expect from a phone with this kind of capacity.

Here's what else the phone could offer

If the leaked details are accurate, the Oppo A7 Pro Max will feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. An in-display fingerprint scanner is also expected to be part of the package.

Powering the phone could be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, which debuted earlier this year. While it isn't a flagship processor, it's designed to deliver a balanced mix of performance and battery efficiency for mid-range smartphones.

For cameras, Oppo is reportedly sticking to a simple setup. The phone is expected to feature a 50 megapixel main camera alongside a 2 megapixel secondary sensor on the back, while selfies and video calls could be handled by a 50 megapixel front camera.

Although Oppo is yet to officially announce the device, the leak suggests the company is continuing its push towards smartphones with much larger batteries.

That wouldn't be entirely surprising either. Last year, Oppo introduced the Oppo A6 Pro in China with a 7,000mAh battery, 80W fast charging, and the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. The phone also came with a 120Hz display, up to 16GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. If the latest leak is accurate, the Oppo A7 Pro Max could build on that formula by making battery life its biggest selling point.
