OnePlus appears ready to expand its smartphone portfolio in India with the introduction of an entirely new lineup. The company has officially confirmed the arrival of its N series, and the first device under the new branding will be called the OnePlus N6.
The announcement comes shortly after reports suggested that OnePlus was preparing a fresh range of affordable smartphones for the Indian market. If those reports prove accurate, the N series could eventually become the company's most accessible smartphone family in the country.

OnePlus N6 Confirmed As First N Series Smartphone
A dedicated microsite for the upcoming handset has gone live, confirming the OnePlus N6 branding ahead of its launch. While the company has yet to reveal key details such as specifications, pricing or an exact launch date, it has offered an early look at the phone's design.
The OnePlus N6 will be available in at least two colour options, including black and green. Promotional images suggest the handset will feature a flat-frame design paired with a flat rear panel. The camera module sits prominently near the top of the back panel, while the power button and volume controls are positioned on the right side of the device.
OnePlus has also confirmed that the smartphone will be sold through Amazon when it launches in India.
New Affordable OnePlus Lineup Could Be On The Way
The confirmation of the OnePlus N6 follows recent reports claiming that OnePlus is working on a new smartphone family aimed at buyers looking for more affordable options.
According to a tipster, the first N series smartphone could make its debut in India as early as July. The report also suggested that some devices in the upcoming lineup may be priced below Rs. 20,000, placing them in a segment where OnePlus currently has limited presence.
At present, the most affordable smartphone in the company's Indian portfolio is the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite. Launched in May, the handset starts at Rs. 20,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.
Could The N Series Replace The Nord CE Lite Lineup?
While OnePlus has not revealed its plans for the Nord CE Lite series, the arrival of the N lineup has fuelled speculation that it could take over as the brand's entry-level smartphone range in India.
For now, the company is keeping most details under wraps. More information regarding the OnePlus N6, including its hardware, features and pricing, is expected to be revealed closer to launch.
