Motorola has started sharing more details about its next Signature-series smartphone. The company had teased the Signature 27 a few weeks ago, but without revealing much about the device. A new teaser has now confirmed a September 22 announcement, while also giving us a first look at the phone's camera and colour options.
There is an interesting detail about the date, though. Motorola says the Signature 27 will be announced during Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit. So, September 22 could be when Motorola introduces the phone rather than when it actually goes on sale. The company has not yet made that distinction clear.

Motorola Signature 27 Gets 200-Megapixel Camera
The latest teaser, shared by Motorola on X, confirms a 200-megapixel rear camera for the Signature 27. The camera will also be capable of recording videos in Dolby Vision. Motorola has not revealed the other cameras on the phone yet, so the complete rear camera setup remains unknown.
The teaser also gives us two of the colours that will be offered with the new phone. These are Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive. Motorola is once again bringing Pantone-validated colours to its Signature lineup, as it did with the previous model.
Design also seems to be a big part of Motorola's pitch this time around. The teaser briefly shows different materials being used across the Signature series, although Motorola has not gone into detail about what materials will be used on the Signature 27.
The company has also confirmed that the phone will use the latest Snapdragon processor. The exact chipset name is yet to be revealed.
It is worth noting that Motorola has not actually confirmed whether the Signature 27 is the direct successor to the Motorola Signature launched earlier this year. It could instead be another model under the Signature branding.
Motorola Signature Specifications
The Motorola Signature made its way to India in January and came in Pantone Martini Olive and Pantone Carbon colourways. It features a 6.8-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.
The phone comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Its base variant is currently priced at Rs. 59,999 in India.
On the camera front, the existing Signature has a 50-megapixel triple-rear-camera setup and a 50-megapixel selfie camera. It can also record 8K Dolby Vision video at 30fps.

Despite its slim design, Motorola has fitted the Signature with a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 90W wired charging and 10W wireless charging.
For now, Motorola is keeping most of the Signature 27's specifications under wraps. With the announcement scheduled for September 22 alongside the Snapdragon Summit, we should not have to wait much longer to find out whether this is a full launch or simply Motorola's first major reveal of the new smartphone.
