The keynote has ended with Apple making some of the biggest hardware announcemets yet. The iPhone Duo definitely takes the top spot as Apple's first-ever foldable with the largest display in iPhone history.

Apple has finally put a price on the iPhone Duo, with the foldable starting at $1,999. Pre-orders are set to open on October 16, while the phone is scheduled to become available on October 12.

Apple is giving apps a more flexible layout on the iPhone Duo, with their interface able to adjust based on how the foldable is positioned and being used. This could be one of the biggest differences between Apple's approach and existing foldable phones.

The early demonstration looks promising, although the experience will ultimately depend on developers making sure their apps are properly optimised for the different screen layouts.

Apple has confirmed more details about the iPhone Duo, including a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display that is 50% larger than the screen on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. On the outside, there's a 5.4-inch display that delivers around 90% of the viewing area offered by the iPhone 18 Pro.

The foldable uses Grade 5 titanium for its construction, with Ceramic Shield 2 protecting the front and Ceramic Shield covering the rear. Touch ID is built into the side button, while Apple says the phone can also be unlocked using an Apple Watch.

The iPhone Duo has speakers placed along both the top and bottom edges. Apple Pencil support is also planned, although it will arrive at a later date.

Apple has revealed some of the biggest hardware highlights of the iPhone Duo this latest entry by Apple, has the largest display iPhone's have ever had. 

It has a FaceTime camera tucked beneath the display. The foldable also gets a redesigned hinge mechanism with an integrated magnet, which is designed to make opening and closing the phone feel smoother.

The iPhone Duo is also being positioned as the thinnest iPhone yet, with an aerospace-grade titanium build.

Heart rate data is getting a bigger role on the latest Apple Watch, with high-frequency readings now available as a complication that users can place directly on the watch face.

Apple is also introducing Readiness through its Health Sensing System. Instead of relying on a fixed target, the feature uses your health data to work out whether it's a good time to push harder or ease off. The score can change over time as your data changes, while also helping you set goals and challenges.

The new Health Age feature takes a broader look at your health metrics to show which habits are having the biggest effect on your health age. Apple is even adding the option to order lab work through the app, with the tests costing $119.

Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, with both models bringing a new sensor array focused on sleep, health and fitness tracking.

The two watches feature Apple's Health Sensing System, which now includes a larger electrode area and improved optical sensing with a new photodiode. Apple has also fitted larger, more power-efficient green LEDs to improve tracking.

The watches can take background readings every five seconds, while heart rate variability is recorded every five minutes, giving the system more frequent health data throughout the day.

e AirPods 5 come with an open-ear design and next-generation Adaptive EQ, along with improved Siri features and real-time Live Translation. They also have a more durable build designed to handle rain. With ANC enabled, the earbuds offer up to four hours of listening, while the charging case extends total battery life to 20 hours. The version without ANC is priced at $129.

A second model adds a touch-sensitive stem and offers up to five hours of battery life with ANC. It also includes a wireless charging case, with the complete package priced at $149.

The pricing is finally out now for iPhone 18 Pro and the 18 Pro Max. The Pro model comes for $1,199 and the Pro Max comes for $1,299.

Apple is showing off how the variable aperture can be used with Pro Controls to give users more flexibility while shooting. It can be used to intentionally add motion blur or freeze moving subjects for sharper photos.

Alongside the performance gains, Apple claims the iPhone 18 Pro lineup delivers a major improvement in battery life. The iPhone 18 Pro can last up to 24 hours on a single charge, while the Pro Max is claimed to offer up to 30 hours. Apple also says both models can reach 50% charge in just 15 minutes.

A new-generation vapor chamber is designed to handle heat more effectively, featuring three times the surface area of its predecessor. A copper layer further improves heat dissipation, helping the device maintain performance for longer. Together, these upgrades are claimed to deliver a 40% improvement in sustained performance.

The A20 Pro has been introduced built on a 2nm process. It sports a neural engine for advanced AI computation with extra 32 cores to leverage AI workloads. The CPU is 6 core and the GPU has 7 cores and is claimed to give 40% higher performance.

Apple’s big launch event has finally kicked off, with the company expected to unveil a packed lineup of new products. The spotlight, however, is firmly on the much-awaited foldable iPhone, which could be Apple’s biggest hardware change in years.

Apple is about to enter a new chapter, and Wednesday’s launch event is expected to be about much more than a new iPhone.

The company is preparing to unveil its first foldable iPhone Duo, which is expected to cost around $2,000, at an event beginning at 10 a.m. local time in Cupertino, California. Alongside the foldable, Apple is also expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, new Apple Watch models and updated AirPods.

Still, the foldable iPhone is likely to steal the spotlight. At a price point of roughly $2,000, Apple is positioning the device as a premium product with the potential to become a status symbol. More importantly, the launch could give the company a chance to push back against criticism that it has fallen behind its rivals when it comes to innovation.

There will be another major change on stage as well. The event is expected to mark the first major product showcase under Apple's new CEO, John Ternus. He officially took over from Tim Cook on September 1, with Cook moving into the role of executive chairman.

The event is just about to begin, with less than an hour left. From the iPhone 18 series to iPhone Duo, it would be interesting to see what the event has to showcase this time.

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to cost more than its predecessor, but Apple may not be going as far with the price hike as earlier reports had suggested.

There had been plenty of talk of Apple increasing the price by $200 or even $300. Bloomberg has now reportedly put the expected increase at around $100, which would take the iPhone 18 Pro to $1,199 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max to $1,299. The entry-level models are also expected to start with 256GB of storage.

A $100 increase is still a price increase, but it would put Apple's flagship phones more in line with rivals such as Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra and Google's Pixel 11 Pro XL, rather than leaving them significantly more expensive.

The bigger question could be whether the regular Pro model will still make as much sense this year. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is rumoured to get more substantial hardware upgrades, which could make the extra money easier to justify for buyers who were already considering the larger model.

A $2,000 flagship is expected to get the best camera hardware a company can offer. That makes the iPhone Duo’s reported lack of a dedicated telephoto lens particularly interesting, especially when its biggest foldable rivals are taking a very different approach.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra show why a proper zoom camera still matters. At 5x and higher, the Pixel’s periscope camera manages to retain noticeably more detail, with subjects looking sharper and cleaner than they do on Samsung’s foldable. The difference is especially visible in the sign shown in the gallery above.

Apple is reportedly considering a high-resolution crop from the main camera instead of adding a separate telephoto sensor. While that can deliver decent results at lower magnification, image quality is likely to fall away once the zoom moves beyond 2x.

For a foldable that could sit at the very top of Apple’s lineup, the decision to leave out dedicated zoom hardware could end up being one of its more noticeable compromises. Is saving space worth giving up a proper telephoto camera on a phone at this price?

We may not see the rumoured AirPods Ultra at Apple’s event today, but that doesn’t mean the AirPods are being left out. Apple could use the event to introduce the AirPods 5 instead.

If the reports are accurate, Apple will keep things fairly simple with two versions: a $129 standard model and a $179 variant with active noise cancellation. The biggest changes could come under the hood, with the H3 chip expected to bring cleaner calls and improved noise cancellation.

Apple may also give the cheaper AirPods a small health-focused upgrade. Basic temperature tracking has been tipped as one of the possible additions, although it would likely be a much simpler feature than the health tools found on Apple’s more premium devices.

There had been talk of a hike of up to $200, which would have made the next Pro models considerably more expensive. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman now expects a more modest increase of $100 for both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

If that turns out to be correct, the iPhone 18 Pro could start at $1,199, while the Pro Max could cost $1,299 at launch. The entry-level versions are also expected to get 256GB of storage.

So yes, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup could cost more than its predecessors. But compared with the worst-case predictions we've been hearing, the increase looks a little easier to live with. And for people buying through monthly instalments, the difference could amount to only a few extra dollars each month.

Of course, Apple has its own way of naming products, so there's no point judging the name before the company actually confirms it. The more interesting part of this leak might be the price.

The first foldable iPhone is expected to be seriously expensive, but the latest report puts its starting price at around $2,000. That's obviously still a huge amount for a phone, but it's not quite as painful as some of the earlier price rumours had suggested.
