Airtel is changing its postpaid plans from October 8, with customers set to pay up to Rs. 50 more depending on the plan they use. At the same time, the telecom operator is adding a benefit that could be useful for people who travel abroad: one free international roaming pack every year.

The company says the roaming benefit is worth around Rs. 2,000. Existing postpaid customers will also be moved to the new plans, with Airtel saying the migration will happen over the course of about a month. Customers will be shifted to the closest higher-priced plan based on their current subscription.

What Do You Get With Airtel's Free Roaming Pack?

The free international roaming benefit comes with a five-day validity. Customers can use it whenever they need it during the year, rather than having the pack activated automatically.

For those five days, the pack includes 5GB of mobile data, 60 minutes of outgoing calls, 25 outgoing SMS messages and one incoming SMS.

The benefit is not limited to the primary user on a family postpaid connection. Airtel says every member included in a family postpaid plan will get the free international roaming benefit separately.

Airtel Postpaid Plans Get More Benefits

The roaming pack is being added alongside the existing benefits available with Airtel's postpaid plans, so customers will continue to receive the other perks included with their subscriptions.

The plans also come with unlimited data and Airtel's fast-lane technology. The company is additionally offering network-level protection against spam and fraudulent links.

Entertainment benefits are part of the package as well. Customers can access subscriptions and other perks through the Airtel Postpaid Advantage Club, including experiences linked to comedy shows, movie premieres and concerts.

The revised plans and their higher pricing will take effect from October 8, 2026. Existing users will be moved to the new pricing structure gradually over the following month.
