MSI has launched two new laptops in India, the high-performance MSI Raider 18 Max HX and the more lightweight MSI Prestige 13 AI+. While one clearly targets gamers who want top-end specs, the other is aimed at users looking for a compact machine for work and everyday productivity.

Both laptops are already on sale through MSI’s authorised offline stores across cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and more.

Price And Availability

The Raider 18 Max HX, in its top configuration with Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, 64GB RAM, and 2TB storage, is priced at Rs. 5,89,990 (promotional). It comes in a Core Black finish.

On the other hand, the Prestige 13 AI+ is priced at Rs. 1,54,990 (promotional) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant, and is available in Platinum Grey. These prices are valid until June 8.

MSI Raider 18 Max HX: Built For Heavy Gaming

If you’re looking at raw power, this one is clearly doing most of the heavy lifting. The Raider 18 Max HX packs an 18-inch UHD+ Mini LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, so visuals should be sharp and vibrant.

Under the hood, it runs on an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX processor, paired with the RTX 5090 GPU that brings up to 1,824 AI TOPS and 24GB GDDR7 VRAM. MSI is also offering 64GB DDR5 RAM out of the box, with support going up to 128GB, along with a fast 2TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD.

Other details include a SteelSeries per-key RGB keyboard, a 99.9Wh battery with 400W charging, and a full set of ports including Thunderbolt 5, HDMI 2.1, and SD Express. You also get Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a Full HD IR webcam with HDR support. At 3.6kg, it’s clearly not built for portability.

MSI Prestige 13 AI+: Lightweight And Work Focused

Switching to the Prestige 13 AI+, the focus shifts completely. This is a much slimmer and lighter laptop at just 899g, built for portability.

It features a 13.3-inch 2.8K OLED display with True Black 600 certification and full DCI-P3 coverage. It runs on an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor with integrated graphics, paired with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB SSD.

You still get a solid feature set here, including a backlit keyboard with a Copilot key, dual speakers with DTS audio, and a triple-mic setup. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, along with ports like Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and MicroSD.

Battery-wise, it packs a 53.8Wh unit with 65W charging, which fits its lightweight profile.

Two Very Different Use Cases

What’s clear here is that MSI isn’t trying to make one laptop do everything. The Raider 18 Max HX is for users who want top-tier gaming and performance without compromise, while the Prestige 13 AI+ is more about portability and everyday productivity.

Depending on what you need, one is clearly going to make more sense than the other.
