Motorola isn't done with tablets just yet. After launching the Moto Pad 70 in India last month, the company has now confirmed that another model, the Moto Pad 70 Groove, is on the way. The tablet will make its India debut on July 31, and Motorola has already revealed some of its biggest highlights ahead of the launch.

If there's one thing the company wants you to notice, it's the speakers.

Motorola is calling the Moto Pad 70 Groove the first tablet in India with a nine speaker JBL audio system. That's a bold claim, but the hardware certainly sounds impressive. The setup includes four tweeters, three woofers and two passive radiators. It's also paired with a large acoustic chamber, dedicated bass units, Dolby Atmos support and both Hi Res Audio and Hi Res Audio Wireless certifications. According to Motorola, the system can deliver up to 48W stereo output through a 7.2 channel audio setup, making the tablet clearly aimed at users who spend a lot of time watching films or listening to music.

The design is a little different from what you'd expect from a typical tablet as well.

Images shared on Flipkart show a large circular section on the back that houses the JBL branded speaker grille. Right below it sits a built in fold out stand, so you won't need a separate case if you want to prop the tablet up. Motorola says the stand supports several positions, including portrait, landscape, theatre, hanging, lean and standard stand modes, giving users more flexibility depending on what they're doing.

The tablet has also been teased in a green colour option, while the volume buttons appear to be placed on the rear panel instead of the side, which is an unusual design choice.

On the front, the Moto Pad 70 Groove will feature a 12.1 inch 2.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Motorola has also confirmed support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision, while the panel can reach up to 800 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode, which should help improve visibility outdoors.

Battery life looks promising too. The tablet packs a 10,200mAh battery, and Motorola claims it can deliver up to 15 hours of video playback on a single charge. Unlike many devices these days, the company is also bundling a 68W charger in the box.

There are still a few unanswered questions. Motorola has not yet revealed which chipset powers the Moto Pad 70 Groove or shared details about its RAM, storage, cameras and software. Those specifications are expected to be announced closer to the launch.

For now, though, it's clear where Motorola is positioning this tablet. Rather than chasing raw performance, the Moto Pad 70 Groove appears to be built for entertainment, with a large high refresh rate display, an unusually powerful speaker setup and a battery that should comfortably last through a long binge watching session. That should make it an interesting option for anyone looking for a multimedia focused Android tablet when it arrives later this month.
