Apple's next iPhone launch could come with an unpleasant surprise for buyers. The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first book-style foldable, reportedly called the iPhone Ultra, in September. New Apple Watch and AirPods models could also join them.
But while the new devices will be the main attraction, their prices could become a talking point of their own.

iPhone 18 Pro Could Get More Expensive
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing to increase the prices of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The two phones are expected to cost more than the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max when they arrive next month.
This isn't completely out of the blue. Apple recently raised prices on several products, including MacBooks and iPads, after an executive warned that price increases across its product lineup were becoming difficult to avoid. The iPhone 17 series, however, escaped the earlier hike.
Now, it looks like the iPhone could be next.
$100 Price Hike Could Be On The Cards
Gurman's report suggests that the iPhone 18 Pro could start at $1,199 (around Rs. 1.15 lakh) in the US. That's $100 more than its predecessor and works out to roughly a 9 percent increase.
Apple appears to be looking closely at what its competitors are doing as well. Samsung and Google have reportedly increased the prices of their flagship phones by around $100, giving Apple some room to make a similar move while still keeping the iPhone 18 Pro competitive with Samsung's Ultra and Google's Pro models.
The interesting part is that the $100 increase may actually be relatively small compared with the jump in prices of memory components such as DRAM and NAND.
India Could See A Rs. 10,000 Jump
Indian buyers could also feel the impact. A recent report claimed that the iPhone 18 Pro could be around Rs. 10,000 more expensive in India than the previous generation.

And it may not be limited to the Pro lineup. The iPhone 17, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e are also reportedly being considered for price increases, although Apple hasn't confirmed any of these changes yet.
So, September could be an interesting month for Apple fans. The company may have a new iPhone lineup, its first foldable and fresh accessories to show off, but getting your hands on them could cost quite a bit more this time.
