The Infinix GT 50 Pro has officially gone live in select global markets, stepping in as the successor to last year’s GT 30 Pro. This one clearly leans into gaming, not just through specs on paper but with features that actually try to change how you play on a phone.
At the centre of it is the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. On paper, that already puts it in serious performance territory, but Infinix is pushing things further with hardware touches like pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers. These GT triggers come with 10 pressure levels and can be mapped for different actions, giving it a more console-like feel during gameplay. They also support quick app launches and even basic controls like video playback.

A Display That Clearly Targets Gamers
The phone features a 6.78-inch AMOLED LTPS display with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate that scales up to 144Hz. It also supports a 330Hz touch sampling rate and an instant 2800Hz touch response, which should translate to quicker reactions in fast-paced games. Peak brightness goes up to 4500 nits, and the panel covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.
There is Gorilla Glass 7i protection on top, along with TÜV certification for reduced blue light, which should help during longer gaming sessions.
Cameras Stay Practical
For optics, the GT 50 Pro keeps things fairly straightforward. There is a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the front, you get a 13-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. It is not trying to compete with flagship camera phones, but it covers the basics well.
Cooling And Connectivity Get Attention.
Gaming phones live and die by thermals, and Infinix seems to know that. The GT 50 Pro uses a HydroFlow liquid cooling system with a micro-pump design to keep temperatures in check. There is also an in-house N1 network chip aimed at improving connectivity stability.
You also get Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and even an IR blaster, which is becoming rare these days.
A Battery That Matches The Performance
Backing all of this is a 6,500mAh battery with 45W wired charging. There is also support for 30W wireless charging and reverse charging, both wired and wireless. Interestingly, the phone supports wireless bypass charging when paired with Infinix’s GT MagCharge Cooler 2.0, which could help during extended gaming sessions.
Software and Build
The phone runs Android 16-based XOS 16 out of the box. It also comes with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, along with features like an in-display fingerprint scanner and X-axis linear motor for better haptic feedback.
Price and Availability
The Infinix GT 50 Pro starts at IDR 6,998,000 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the 512GB version is priced at IDR 7,499,000. It is currently listed on e-commerce platforms in Indonesia and comes in Black Abyss, Red Blaze, and Silver Glacier colour options.

The Direction Is Clear
This is not just another spec-heavy phone trying to look good on paper. Infinix is clearly pushing toward a more immersive gaming experience with physical triggers, a high refresh rate display, and serious cooling. The real question is whether users actually start using these features or stick to the usual touchscreen controls.
