Honor has expanded its Play series in China with the launch of the Honor Play 80 Pro. The smartphone is already listed on the company’s online store and is expected to go on sale soon, although the exact date hasn’t been announced yet.

Price And Availability

The Honor Play 80 Pro comes in three variants. The base model with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 1,899 (around Rs. 26,000). The next option with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 2,099 (around Rs. 28,000), while the top-of-the-line model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY (about Rs. 31,000).

It will be available for purchase in China via Honor’s official online store. Buyers can choose from three colour options: Azure Sky, Black Phantom Night, and White Moonlight.

Display And Software

Up front, the phone features a 6.8-inch TFT LCD display with HD+ resolution. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach up to 850 nits of peak brightness. The display also comes with aluminosilicate glass protection.

On the software side, the device runs MagicOS 9, which is based on Android 15.

Performance And Battery

The Honor Play 80 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. The processor includes two performance cores clocked up to 2.3GHz and six efficiency cores running at 2.0GHz. It is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

One of the key highlights here is the large 7,000mAh battery, which is clearly aimed at users who prioritise long battery life.

Camera Setup

For photography, the phone sticks to a single rear camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and support for up to 8x digital zoom. On the front, there’s a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Video recording is capped at 1080p at 30fps.

Connectivity And Other Features

The smartphone supports 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.1. The device also supports various navigation systems such as GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo. Additionally, it has an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

In terms of sensors, it has a fingerprint sensor, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gravity sensor, and accelerometer.

The Honor Play 80 Pro has dimensions of 166.89 x 76.8 x 8.24mm and weighs around 207 grams, which is normal considering it has such a large battery.
