Honor Play 80 Plus has officially been launched in China, expanding the company’s Play 80 lineup with a device that clearly puts battery life front and centre. If you are someone who hates charging your phone frequently, this one is trying hard to grab your attention.
The phone is currently available for pre-order in the country and comes in three colour options Aquamarine, Floating Gold, and Inkstone Black. It is offered in multiple configurations, giving buyers some flexibility depending on their needs.

Price And Availability
The starting price is set at CNY 1,699, which roughly translates to around Rs. 24,000 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Honor has not yet revealed the pricing for the higher variants, which include options going up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
For now, the device is limited to the Chinese market and is listed on the official Honor online store.
Display And Performance
On the front, the Honor Play 80 Plus features a 6.61-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1604 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should help with smoother scrolling and general usage. The panel also offers up to 1,010 nits peak brightness and decent colour coverage for a device in this segment.
Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, paired with an Adreno 613 GPU. You also get up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. This setup should be enough for everyday tasks like browsing, social media, and light gaming, though it is not aimed at heavy performance users.
The phone runs on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, bringing the latest software experience from Honor.
Cameras And Design
Interestingly, Honor has kept things quite simple when it comes to cameras. The phone features a single 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, housed in a pill-shaped module. For selfies and video calls, there is a 5-megapixel front camera.
It is simple in its design. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor available in this smartphone, which remains practical enough.
Battery is the Key Feature of the Smartphone
This aspect makes the smartphone unique. The Honor Play 80 Plus smartphone is powered by an incredible 7,500mAh battery, which is much bigger compared to other smartphones. It also supports 45W wired fast charging, helping reduce downtime when you do need to plug in.
For users who prioritise long battery life over top-tier specs, this could be the biggest selling point.
Connectivity And Extras
The phone supports 5G and 4G LTE, along with Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C port. Navigation systems include GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo. It is also equipped with sensors such as an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and e-compass.
On the aspect of physical properties, the device measures 163.9 x 75.9 x 8.29mm and weighs roughly 205g, a relatively manageable figure for a device packed with a massive battery.
What Does It Actually Offer
Indeed, the Honor Play 80 Plus is not aimed at giving you all-in-one solution. The device provides the basic capabilities while putting a lot of focus on the battery and comfortable usage.
Thus, if you need a reliable and long-lasting device for everyday use, the Honor Play 80 Plus can be just right for you. Yet, those in search for excellent cameras or powerful hardware should probably look for other options.
