The Google Pixel 10a is now up for pre-orders in Japan, about a month after it first went on sale in markets like India. Alongside this, Google has introduced a new Isai Blue finish, which is exclusive to Japan. This version has been created in collaboration with Heralbony, adding a slightly different identity to the otherwise familiar device.

The Isai Blue edition is priced at JPY 94,900 for the 256GB variant, while the 128GB model comes in at JPY 79,900. With this, buyers in Japan now get four colour options to choose from, including Berry, Fog, Lavender, and Obsidian, which are already available globally. Pre-orders are currently live, and the new colour variant is set to go on sale starting May 20 through Google’s official store.

Same Phone, Different Identity

Underneath that new finish, nothing really changes. The Pixel 10a carries over the same hardware as the global model. It runs on Android 16, and Google is sticking with its long-term promise of seven years of software and security updates, which continues to be one of the biggest talking points for Pixel devices.

You get a 6.3-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, pushing up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, along with Gorilla Glass 7i protection. It’s powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chip, paired with the Titan M2 security processor, along with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

Focus Stays On Practical Upgrades

The phone packs a 5,100mAh battery, with support for 30W wired and 10W wireless charging. It also comes with an IP68 rating, which means it should handle dust and water without much trouble. In terms of size and feel, it weighs around 183g, so it still sits comfortably in that lightweight, everyday-use category.

On the camera side, the setup remains unchanged. There’s a 48-megapixel main sensor with OIS, paired with a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens offering a 120-degree field of view. For selfies and video calls, you get a 13-megapixel front camera.

Nothing Radical, But A Smart Move

This isn’t really about new features or upgrades. Google is clearly using this launch to tailor the Pixel 10a slightly for the Japanese market, with the Isai Blue variant adding a bit of exclusivity without changing the core experience. For anyone already considering the Pixel 10a, this just adds one more option to the mix rather than redefining the phone itself.
