WWDC 2026 LIVE: Why WWDC 2026 Feels Like A Big Moment For Apple

The build-up to WWDC 2026 is already underway, and Tim Cook has set the tone with a short, celebrity-packed video shared on X. The clip brings together some of Apple TV’s biggest names, including Harrison Ford (Shrinking), Rhea Seehorn (Pluribus), Michael B. Jordan, Jimmy Fallon, Jane Krakowski, Whoopi Goldberg, Diplo, and several others from the worlds of entertainment and music.

There’s already a noticeable buzz around this year’s event, even before the opening keynote. While WWDC is always one of Apple’s most important stages, this edition feels unusually loaded with expectations and speculation.

A key factor is the leadership transition looming over the company. This is widely expected to be Tim Cook’s final WWDC as Apple CEO, as he prepares to move into the role of Executive Chairman of the Board. Apple veteran John Ternus is set to take over as CEO on 1 September. Cook will still be front and centre during the event, but attention is gradually shifting towards Apple’s next chapter.

Another major storyline is Apple’s long-anticipated AI push. WWDC 2026 is expected to showcase a significantly upgraded, more intelligent version of Siri. While leaks have already given a rough idea of what’s coming, the real impact will only be clear once Apple demonstrates it on stage.

WWDC 2026 LIVE: Will We Get To See The iPhone Fold Or 'Ultra'?

Apple WWDC 2026 LIVE News: Apple’s foldable iPhone, believed to be in development under names like iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra, is tipped to appear at the September launch event. If that happens, it would almost certainly run iOS 27, meaning the software is likely already being shaped around a foldable experience.

Whether Apple actually talks about it or not is another matter. Even without a formal reveal, iOS 27 itself becomes the real area to watch, as any new interface behaviour or design shifts could quietly signal how Apple is preparing for a foldable future.

Apple Keynote LIVE News: Will Siri Finally Get A Dark Mode?

There’s been plenty of discussion around Siri’s upcoming AI upgrades, but one smaller detail that has slipped under the radar is its visual redesign.

Reports suggest that Siri 2.0 may move entirely towards a darker interface, with no light mode option at all. Instead, the experience is expected to be built around deeper tones and a more subdued visual style.

Based on WWDC concept visuals, the new Siri interface is said to lean into this darker aesthetic, featuring a black or dark background paired with a bright, blinking cursor. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also noted that the design language appears to follow a similar direction to Apple’s recent promotional artwork, with a focus on contrast and minimalism.

Apple Keynote LIVE News: Is Liquid Glass Here To Stay?

Love it or hate it, Liquid Glass doesn't appear to be going anywhere just yet. Instead of pulling back on the design language, Apple could give users more say in how it looks. Recent reports suggest iOS 27 may introduce a system-wide control that lets users adjust the intensity of the Liquid Glass effect across the interface.

Interestingly, the feature is said to have been considered for iOS 26 before being shelved due to technical hurdles. If it makes the cut this time, users may no longer be limited to the current transparent or opaque choices, with the new control potentially offering a much finer level of customisation.

Apple WWDC 2026 LIVE: Will Dynamic Island And Siri Get Integrated?

While Apple has remained tight-lipped about its plans, recent reports have offered a glimpse of what the revamped Siri experience could look like. Ahead of WWDC, Bloomberg shared renders suggesting the assistant may be in line for one of its biggest visual overhauls yet.

Instead of appearing as a simple voice assistant, Siri could take on a more conversational, chatbot-like role integrated directly into the Dynamic Island. Reports also indicate users may be able to switch between different AI models, including options from ChatGPT, Gemini, and Anthropic.

The interface is said to rely on rich information cards for responses, while a dedicated Siri app could make it easier to revisit previous conversations and interactions. Whether Apple unveils all of these changes at WWDC remains to be seen, but they offer an interesting preview of where Siri may be headed.

Apple WWDC 2026 LIVE: What SIRI Updates Can You Expect To See This Time?

Apple WWDC 2026 LIVE News: If there's one WWDC announcement that has been years in the making, it's Apple's upgraded Siri. The company first introduced its vision for a much smarter, AI-powered assistant in 2024, but bringing those capabilities to users proved more challenging than expected, leading to delays and a slower rollout than Apple had originally planned.

This year's event could finally show how Apple intends to close the gap. Several reports suggest the new Siri may be powered by technology linked to Google's Gemini models, though Apple is expected to focus heavily on what makes its approach different. Privacy remains one of the company's biggest talking points, and it's likely to position Siri as an AI assistant that can be powerful without compromising user data.

What's also changing is Siri's role within the Apple ecosystem. Rather than being just another feature on the iPhone, the assistant is expected to become a core part of Apple's broader AI strategy. Alongside iPhones and Macs, Siri could eventually power upcoming products such as a smart home hub, AI-powered glasses, and other devices that have been the subject of growing speculation in recent months.

Apple Keynote LIVE: What Will WWDC 2026 Reveal? Here's What We Expect

We will be right there at the venue, with our Editor, Konark Tyagi, on the ground giving you the latest updates from WWDC 2026. Of course, no WWDC keynote is complete without a closer look at what's next for the iPhone. While Apple's AI ambitions and Siri upgrades are expected to grab plenty of attention, iOS 27 will likely remain one of the biggest highlights of the event.

Beyond the AI-focused additions, rumours suggest Apple has been working on updates for several core iPhone apps. The Camera and Photos apps are both expected to see changes, alongside other refinements across the operating system that could shape the overall iPhone experience for the year ahead.

Apple WWDC 2026 LIVE: What To Expect, From Siri 2.0 To Amped Up AI

Apple WWDC 2026 LIVE News: Even if Apple spends most of the keynote talking about its next-generation operating systems, AI is still expected to have a big presence. After all, the company has a lot riding on Apple Intelligence, especially after some of the features announced last year took longer than expected to arrive.

This time around, Apple could show off a more capable Siri, along with a handful of upgrades aimed at making its AI tools more useful. Reports suggest users may get new ways to edit photos with AI, create custom wallpapers, generate better-looking images in Image Playground, and fine-tune Genmoji creations. Visual Intelligence is also expected to see improvements, with Apple likely looking to make the feature smarter and more practical in everyday situations.
