Recent reports have been implying Apple is looking to further its partnership with Google and bolster the next-gen Siri with generative AI capabilities. iPhone 15 Pro Performance is in the Early Stages of Software Development. As demand for large-scale computing infrastructure grows, the Cupertino-based tech giant is reportedly exploring whether Google’s Gemini AI models and server infrastructure can be employed to modernise Siri. The move would also enable Google’s AI systems to run inside Apple-controlled facilities instead of solely depending on third-party cloud networks, as Apple builds its own internal artificial intelligence software systems.
Siri Overhaul Could Rely on Google AI Servers
Apple has reportedly considered running Google’s AI servers out of Apple’s own data centres. This would potentially enable Gemini to drive advanced Siri features while remaining within Apple-controlled infrastructure.

The company hasn’t made any agreement yet and is said to be considering several options as it plans to add more contextual, generative AI-powered experiences within Siri. Development hurdles and the enormous computational demands of large AI models are thought to have pushed Apple toward investigating scalable cloud-powered approaches.
Balancing Privacy With Cloud-Scale AI
Apple has long touted on-device AI processing as essential to privacy-embracing features. More advanced AI tasks, though, might necessitate substantial cloud infrastructure. The company currently uses a system known as Private Cloud Compute, which enables some sophisticated artificial intelligence features via what Apple calls stateless data processing.

In this system, the data generated by users is sent to Apple servers only in order to fulfill a specific request and discarded afterward. According to Apple, on-device data is not stored or logged (and cannot be accessed from a remote device) once a response is sent back to the client device.
Siri Gemini Integration Confirmed
Apple previously already confirmed that it would integrate Google’s Gemini model as an optional AI provider in its ecosystem. CEO Tim Cook has previously stated that support for Gemini would supplement Apple’s internal development of AI, rather than replace it. It has been reported that the next-gen Siri is being developed along with Google, who are also currently working on a more personalized version of their virtual assistant.
