Apple has announced the iPad Air (2026) in India and other international markets, alongside the launch of the iPhone 17e. The new generation of the iPad Air comes with a significant performance boost powered by the M4 chip, along with two display sizes: 11-inch and 13-inch. You can get the tablet in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular variants with storage options up to 1TB. Now designed for productivity, creativity and entertainment with Apple Intelligence support and iPadOS 26.

Apple India online store lists the tablet in Blue, Purple, Space Grey and Starlight colour options.

Display and Performance

The iPad Air (2026) is claimed to sport a Liquid Retina IPS screen of up to 13 inches with a resolution of 2,732x2,048 pixels, pixel density of 264 ppi, P3 wide color gamut and peak brightness equivalent to 600 nits. It also features an anti-reflective coating and a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating.

Under the hood of the tablet is Apple’s M4 chip, with:

- Octa-core CPU (three performance + five efficiency cores)

- Nine-Core GPU• Hardware Accelerated Ray Tracing

- 16-core Neural Engine

This will ensure that the device features 12 GB R.A.M and up to 1 TB storage, runs on iPadOS 26 next month, and supports features using Apple Intelligence.

Camera and Connectivity

The tablet features a 12MP (f/1.8) rear camera with 4K video recording support at up to 60 fps and up to 5x digital zoom. It features a 12MP (f/2.0) camera on the front with Center Stage support for video calls.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Apple’s C1X cellular model and the N1 networking chip. This includes support for Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil USB-C, and what they call Apple Pencil Hover.

Battery and Additional Features

The iPad Air (2026) can hold up to a 36.59Wh battery, offering as high as 10 hours of web browsing or video playback time. Touch ID handles security, and there are also a gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer and ambient light sensor.
