Apple might be gearing up for something big in the wearables space, especially as the race to integrate AI with everyday devices gets more intense. According to a report from Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter, the Cupertino-based tech giant is planning to churn out three new AI-powered wearable devices: AI smart glasses, a wearable pendant, and AirPods that could be equipped with a camera. These devices would then merge into a complete ecosystem of Apple's iPhone and Siri, essentially like its eyes and ears.
Apple to Make Its Own Smart Glasses
The glasses are being internally codenamed N50, and it will be the most advanced gizmo out of the other two mentioned. These are expected to pack two cameras: one high-resolution sensor for taking pictures and videos, and the second would be something like a computer vision, something like a LiDAR for iPhones. Apparently the glasses might not come with a display, so actions like phone calls, music, and Siri queries will be prompted through voice commands. Apple is planning to push for production in late 2026, probably making a 2027 release a possibility.
What Happens to AirPods?
This product could actually be the one that you might get to see launch this year if Apple is able to keep up with its plans. The cameras on the device might be low resolution and built for AI awareness and not for actually taking pictures, more like training for Siri rather than a depository of pictures.

Pendant or Human AI Pin?
Apple is reportedly working on a Siri-powered pendant inspired by the Humane AI Pin but designed as an iPhone accessory rather than a standalone device. About the size of an AirTag, it can clip onto clothing or be worn as a necklace and would use an always-on camera to give Siri visual context. There’s no projector, and most processing would rely on the iPhone. It’s still unclear if the pendant will have a built-in speaker. The product is at a very early stage and could be scrapped, though a 2027 launch is being considered.
This might be the strategic push that the tech giant aims to take in this ever-growing space of AI, where unfortunately Apple lags behind major names like Google, Meta, etc.
