Building a daily self-care routine is crucial for managing your daily stress, boosting your mood, and protecting your long-term physical and mental well-being. Prioritising yourself and making sure that you feel happy and content within will not drain you in the long run. Aashka Goradia Goble, Co–Founder, Renee Cosmetics agrees to this notion and says, "Self-care is about so much more than skincare or beauty rituals. It is about slowing down, giving yourself permission to rest, and finding the confidence to feel good in your own skin."
"Good beauty begins with good skincare, but true confidence comes from feeling comfortable, cared for, and confident in who you are. Sometimes, the most powerful form of self-care is simply taking a moment for yourself."
Opting for simple and basic healthy habits that help you pause and reflect brings you closer to your dream self, which is what ‘It’ girl means in Gen Z terminology.
Daily Self-Care Routine To Become That 'It' Girl:
Here is a step-by-step guide to your daily self-care routine, which is categorised into morning, afternoon and night. This 13-step routine is not as difficult as it seems, and will leave you feeling content and happy at the end of the day.
Morning Self-Care Routine
Step 1: Hydrate Yourself
Kickstart your day with a glass of water because drinking water as soon as you wake up is important to restore lost fluids in your body. It also wakes up your metabolism and wakes up your mind. Drink plenty of water all day long to flush out toxins and improve overall well-being.
Step 2: Stretch A Little
Then, stretch a little; 10-15 minutes is also enough, as moving in the morning helps to wake up your muscles, improves blood flow, reduces stiffness from sleeping and keeps your energy level high for the day ahead.

Step 3: Meditate
You should also give 5-10 minutes to everyday meditation to balance your thoughts every morning. All you need to do is breathe mindfully, which not just calm your mind but also positively impacts your everyday life.
Step 4: Eat A Healthy Breakfast
Start your day with a healthy breakfast that contains protein, fibre and healthy fats. A proper morning meal keeps you full and gives you more energy. Moreover, it makes your brain work better.
Step 5: Don’t Forget Your Refillable Water Bottle
Having a refillable water bottle with you all the time allows you to have water to drink whenever you want instead of purchasing unhealthy soda drinks. Such an activity makes you stay healthy and environmentally friendly at the same time.

Step 6: Keep Moving
Don’t spend hours sitting in one place. You should take some short walks, climb stairs or perform light exercises while working; a 10-minute walk after lunch also works. Physical activity will increase your blood flow, elevate your mood, help in staying fit and help fight fatigue from sitting too long.
Step 7: Don’t Skip Lunch
A proper lunch will keep your energy level steady and will help avoid unhealthy snacking. Vegetables, grain products and lean meat should be a part of your lunch.

Step 10: Restore
At night, take a bit of your time to restore. Reading a book, taking a warm shower, listening to some soothing music and spending time on some relaxing hobbies can be useful for you.
Step 11: Power Down
Power down at least 30-60 minutes before going to bed. Ditching the cell phone, computer, and TV screens allows you to relax your mind, avoid blue light, and set up conditions that are conducive to quality and undisturbed sleep.
Step 12: Practice Gratitude
End your day by taking a minute to write down or think about three things you are thankful for. This practice will help you develop a positive mindset and feel more grateful for those little things in life that contribute to overall happiness.
