Ayurvedic Skincare Routine: For a monsoon skincare routine, people look for products that protect against redness, breakouts, and irritation caused by unpredictable rainy days and high humidity. Excessive sweating during the rainy season also promotes the rapid growth of bacteria and fungi, which take a toll on our skin.
The moisture traps dirt and oil, clogging pores and triggering acne. Achieving glowing skin during the monsoon can be quite a challenge; therefore, here is a list of tips for maintaining healthy skin this season.
According to Dr Chethana G, Ayurveda Physician, Happiest Ayurveda, “The monsoon season (Varsha Ritu) is a time when Vata dosha becomes aggravated, which weakens our digestive power. This imbalance can manifest on the skin as dryness, sensitivity, dullness, acne, or dehydrated skin. Ayurveda views healthy skin as a reflection of internal balance, making seasonal skincare as much about lifestyle and diet as it is about topical care.”
AM To PM Ayurvedic Skincare Routine For Monsoon :
Ayurvedic skincare is especially useful in the monsoon season, as it uses natural plant extracts, herbal oils, and holistic lifestyle practices to cleanse, nourish, and protect your skin from within. Here is an AM to PM ayurvedic skincare routine for monsoon, suggested by Dr Chethana G, Ayurveda Physician.
Morning Skincare Routine For Monsoon:
Step 1: Gentle Cleanser
Start your day with a gentle cleanser made with Neem, Haldi (Turmeric), and Chandan (Sandalwood). Neem has antibacterial properties that help protect the skin from infections and allergies, while turmeric acts as a natural antiseptic and promotes a healthy glow. Chandan soothes and rejuvenates the skin.

Step 5: Ayurvedic Face Pack
In the night, two to three times a week, apply a traditional Ayurvedic face pack made with Haldi, besan (gram flour), Dahi (curd), or doodah (milk). This natural exfoliating mask helps remove dead skin cells, improves skin texture, and enhances the skin’s natural glow.

Each of the above-mentioned Ayurvedic skincare steps is about embracing all-natural ingredients over harsh chemical-based products. It is also important to note that true Ayurvedic skincare glow requires long-term dietary and lifestyle shifts and not just what you put on your face. Additionally, keep it as a firm reminder to always perform a patch test before applying anything on your face to prevent an allergic reaction.
