In a shocking incident, a man in Gurugram posted on X that his Zomato order was being eaten by two unidentified individuals after delayed food delivery. The user named Rishab Kaushik wrote that he waited for his food order for long, following which he tracked and reached the location, and found two people eating his ordered food at the same spot.
What did the post say?
Sharing a post on X, Kaushik said that he ordered food from Khadak Singh Da Dhaba at 10.58 pm on Sunday. The customer got frustrated after seeing that the delivery executive was at the same location for about 40 minutes. The food delivery app showed that he was nearby.
I ordered from Khadak Singh Ka Dhaba through @zomato at 10:58 PM. Didn’t receive it but the app told me that the delivery guy is nearby. Kaushik became restless and came out of his house to find the delivery executive. When he reached the location, he saw two men eating the food at the same spot.
Hours later, Kaushik shared another post ckaiunung that the delivery executive sold the ordered food to those two men for Rs 100. The images were posted alongside screenshots of the order tracker, which showed the delivery rider’s location and the order continuing through the delivery process despite Rishabh not receiving the meal.
The X user then tagged Zomato owner Deepinder Goyal and wrote, “The delivery partner’s icon has been standing at the same spot for 40 minutes. @deepigoyal, this isn’t food delivery anymore. It’s a full-fledged food-sharing economy.”
Following this, Zomato Care reacted to the post, saying asking the X user Rishabh Kaushik to share his order ID so that the officials can look into the matter.
How Did Netizens React
The post also prompted other users to share their own views on late-night food deliveries. Several suggested opting for cash on delivery to avoid potential issues with orders that do not arrive, particularly when ordering late at night.
A user wrote, “Donate kr diya food tune yeh smjh le." A second wrote, “Does paying in cash make any difference? ”.
A third user commented, “People are shameless nowadays; case file kr do bhai.” A fourth wrote, “Yes this is so common ; even if zomato refunds back the money, what about the distress caused ?”.
