A popular cafe chain, Hard Rock International, has officially ended its agreements with JSM Corporation Pvt. Ltd. and its entities which held the rights to operate all Hard Rock Cafes and Rock Shops across India, according to several reports.

For many music lovers and foodies, Hard Rock has always been more than just a place to eat. It’s been a hub for live music, a showcase for iconic memorabilia, and a spot to indulge in classic American dishes. Now, after almost two decades since the first cafe opened in Bengaluru back in 2007, Hard Rock International has confirmed it’s parting ways with JSM Corporation Pvt. Ltd. and the other groups that operated the cafes and shops in India. The news has come as a surprise to many loyal patrons, leaving them with a sense of nostalgia.

In an official statement, Hard Rock confirmed the termination of these agreements, which means 10 outlets across the country will be closing down. These locations include:

  • Bengaluru (St. Mark's Road)
  • Kempegowda International Airport (Terminal 2)
  • Bengaluru Whitefield
  • Chandigarh
  • Chennai
  • Hyderabad
  • Hyderabad Hitech City
  • Kolkata
  • New Delhi
  • Pune

However, Hard Rock International clarified that the Hard Rock Hotel in Goa remains unaffected by the closure, as it is operated separately and will continue to function.

"India continues to be an important market for Hard Rock, and we sincerely thank our guests and fans for their years of patronage at our Cafe locations in India. These closures will not affect the Hard Rock Hotel Goa, which remains open," said Cristina Lopes, Worldwide Director of Sales & Marketing at Hard Rock International to The Hindu.

According to NDTV, one of the management officials at the Hard Rock Cafe outlets confirmed that they had not received any formal communication regarding the closures and are currently continuing operations. The social media accounts of Hard Rock Cafe, including the Bengaluru location, remain active and continue to repost patrons' Instagram Stories.

Beyond the food and drinks, people always appreciated the one-of-a-kind memorabilia displayed at the cafes. Each location was filled with rare, iconic items from legendary artists, including costumes and guitars linked to stars like Eric Clapton, Lou Reed, and Madonna. The Bengaluru cafe, in particular, had an impressive collection and even hosted a special exhibit in 2014 called Treasures of Rock, featuring outfits once worn by Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.
