Jagran Correspondent, Gurugram | Police on Wednesday stopped a delegation of MPs from the Aam Aadmi Party, JMM, RJD, and Samajwadi Party at the main entrance of Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, as they went there to meet social activist Sonam Wangchuk.

What Police Said On Stopping MPs
Police said only family members of Wangchuk were allowed to visit the hospital. Videos emerged on social media in which the Opposition leaders were seen sitting on the ground at the gate of the hospital.

Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh told the media that the government was adopting a dictatorial approach. The Opposition leaders were not allowed to meet a social activist, he said, questioning why the BJP MPs were allowed to meet the activist.

Wangchuk's Wife Meets Protesting MPs
Wangchuk’s wife, Dr Gitanjali Angmo met protesting MPs outside the hospital. "I am standing outside Medanta Hospital. As you can see, there is a heavy police presence behind me. It is a very shameful thing that an Indian citizen who has not eaten food for 25 days, is not being given peace of mind and he is being given such a stressful condition and especially when all the MPs are bringing this signed letter. These are the signs of all the MPs who are requesting Sonam to break his fast, but if the government is not allowing them to meet them, then what does it want that Sonam should not break his fast."
MoS Jitendra Singh, Health Minister JP Nadda Visit Medanta Hospital
On Tuesday night, Minister of State for the Prime Minister's Office, Jitendra Singh and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda visited the Medanta Hospital to enquire about the health of Wangchuk.
Government Assures Me Of Resignation Of Pradhan: Wangchuk
The activist, who continued his indefinite hunger strike even after being shifted from Safdarjung Hospital to Gurugram's Medanta Hospital following directions from the Delhi High Court, said that the government has assured him of considering his all demand, following ministers visit. Wangchuk on Wednesday released a statement in which he claimed that the Centre has assured him that it would 'positively consider' the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is the epicentre of the paper leak outrage.
In a letter to Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, Wangchuk thanked them for visiting him in the hospital. He stated that the ministers urged him to end his indefinite hunger strike
More than 5,000 protesters gathered at Jantar Mantar, reclaiming the protest site after Monday's clashes with Delhi Police during the 'Sansad Chalo' march. Organisers from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which is spearheading the movement, announced that while the protest would continue indefinitely, they would suspend further marches towards Parliament, alleging that participants faced excessive police force during Monday's demonstration.
