West Bengal Elections 2026: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday ordered repoll on 15 polling stations across two Assembly constituencies in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district. Accordingly, 11 booths of Magrahat Paschim Assembly constituency and 4 booths of Diamond Harbour seat in South 24 Parganas will undergo repolling between 7 AM and 6 PM on May 2.

While the poll body received requests for repolls at 77 booths across four constituencies following the second phase, it has ordered repolling for 15 so far. It remains unclear whether voting will be ordered in the remaining 62 booths.

Why Is Repolling Being Held?

The poll panel swung into action after receiving complaints about the malfunctioning and tampering with EVMs at some polling booths during the second phase of polling held on April 29.

Addressing people's concerns, the poll body initiated a "high-level" investigation to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
