Weather Update: IMD Issues Rain Alert For Delhi-NCR, UP; Check Forecast For Uttarakhand

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several states across the nation are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall in the coming days. As per the weather department, along with the heavy rain, the central and northeastern states are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during rain to avoid inconveniences.

Delhi-NCR Weather

The residents of Delhi and nearby cities, including Noida and Gurugram, witnessed light rain in the early hours of Friday. As per the advisory, the capital city is set to witness light rain, gentle breezes, and cloudy skies throughout the day. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 35 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 25 degrees Celsius.

Heavy Rain In These Regions

The weather department, while providing details, stated that heavy rainfall is likely in multiple states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

As per the weather department, a heavy rain alert has been issued for 26 districts of Uttar Pradesh today, including Agra, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Etah, Etawah, Kannauj, Jalaun, Kanpur, Jhansi, and Hamirpur. It stated that winds can blow at speeds of 50-65 kilometers per hour during this period.

Apart from this, the southern districts of Bihar are also likely to witness similar weather conditions in the coming days. The farmers of both the states have been advised to protect their crops and not hide beneath big trees and electricity poles during the rain or thunderstorms.

The central and eastern states, including Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, are also expected to witness moderate to heavy rain at least till September 9.
