- IMD predicts light to very heavy rain across several states.

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several states are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall in the next two days. The central and western states are also expected to receive thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning. As per the weather department, multiple states, including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand, are set to witness very heavy rainfall.
Rain Likely In Delhi-NCR
The weather department has issued a warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms for Delhi and its nearby cities on Thursday. It stated that strong winds of up to 30 to 40 km per hour are possible during this period, adding that the residents are expected to witness cloudy skies throughout the day. The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain in isolated places for the next three days.
These Regions Of UP To Receive Rain
Apart from this, several parts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness heavy rain ahead of Janmashtami celebrations on September 3 and 4. As per the advisory, heavy rain is likely in Auraiya, Banda, Chitrakoot, Etawah, Fatehpur, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Mahoba, Sitapur, and Unnao in the next two to three days.

Rain Likely In Bihar Till Sep 5
The weather department clarified that heavy rain will continue till September 4, adding that the eastern districts will receive rain till September 5. According to the IMD, heavy rain is possible in some parts of Bihar on September 3 and 4. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has also predicted thunderstorms and lightning until September 6.
The farmers of these states have been advised to protect their crop and not hide beneath any big tree or electricity pole during the rain to ensure safety. Apart from this, the commuters have also been advised to stay updated and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
