Weather Update: IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alert For UP, Bihar, Other States; Check 2-Day Forecast For Delhi-NCR

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several states over the next 24 hours due to active monsoon conditions in the country. Heavy downpours are expected in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh.

Authorities have advised residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions, as rainfall may cause waterlogging, traffic delays, and flooding in low-lying areas.

IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall In THESE States

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim. Additionally, rainfall is expected in several other regions, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Maharashtra, Goa, Konkan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Puducherry.

Monsoon To Revive In Uttar Pradesh

The monsoon is set to revive across Uttar Pradesh, with heavy rainfall expected in parts of the state this week. According to the Meteorological Department, while average temperatures are expected to stay above normal this month, maximum temperatures could drop by up to four degrees Celsius over the coming days due to anticipated rain.

IMD Forecasts Cloud Cover And Rain For Delhi-NCR

For Delhi-NCR, the IMD forecasts partly cloudy skies and a chance of rain over the next two days, which is expected to bring down temperatures.

On Sunday, cloud cover was witnessed in many areas of Delhi-NCR, with rain recorded in the afternoon, bringing relief from the humid heat. The rain continued for 1.5 hours, following which sunshine prevailed. The sky remained cloudy in the evening.

Meanwhile, Delhi's AQI was recorded at 75 at 10 AM on Monday, placing it in the "satisfactory" category. Air quality across neighbouring NCR cities also remains in the satisfactory to moderate range.
