- IMD warns of heavy rain in 15 northern states.
- Delhi-NCR, UP, Bihar under rain and thunderstorm alert.
- Hilly states like Uttarakhand, Himachal also expect heavy rain.
Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several northern states are set to witness light to heavy rainfall today. According to the weather department, a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued for 15 states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. It asserted that strong winds of up to 50 to 60 kilometers per hour are expected during this period.
Rain Likley In Delhi-NCR
In its advisory, the weather department stated that Delhi and other nearby cities are likely to witness moderate to heavy rain today. Along with rain, the national capital is also expected to receive thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning. While the maximum temperature is expected to be calculated at 33 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is likely to remain at 28 degrees Celsius.
UP Weather Update
The IMD has issued a heavy rain and thunderstorm alert for several districts, including Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur, Mirzapur, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Bulandshahr, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Deoria, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Mau, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya. Lucknow's maximum temperature is expected to be 34 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is likely to be 28 degrees Celsius.
Yellow Alert In Bihar
In Bihar, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Jehanabad, Saran, Siwan, Buxar, Gaya, Patna, Begusarai, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Kishanganj, Araria, Saharsa, Supaul, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, and Lakhisarai. The farmers have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their financial activities during rain to ensure safety.
Will Hilly States Receive Rain?
As per the weather update, several regions of Uttarakhand, including Nainital, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Almora, Rudraprayag, Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri Garhwal, and Champawat, are set to witness heavy rain in the coming days. Apart from this, multiple districts of Himachal Pradesh such as Chamba, Kangra, Sirmaur, Hamirpur, Solan, Kullu, Bilaspur, and Shimla are also set to experience similar weather conditions.
