Weather Update: Heavy Rain Likely In Bengal, Odisha, 13 Other States; Check Forecast For UP, Bihar

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rain and gusty winds within the next 12 hours in at least 15 states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar. The weather department stated that along with heavy rain, strong winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour are expected in many states. The residents of these states have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid inconveniences.

Rain Likely In These States 

While providing details, the weather department stated that several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, are set to witness heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.

Delhi-NCR Weather Update

The residents of Delhi-NCR are also expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall for the next few days. Earlier on Thursday, the capital witnessed very heavy rainfall for a few hours, leading to severe waterlogging in multiple regions.

While the maximum temperature The forecast predicts a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of around 32 degrees Celsius. at 39 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 32 degrees Celsius.

Heavy Rain Likely In UP, Bihar

As per the weather department, several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Agra, and Gorakhpur, are expected to witness rain and winds of up to 60 kmph. Apart from this, multiple districts of Bihar such as Patna, Gaya, Bhojpur, and Darbhanga are also set to witness rain and gusty winds at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.

Heavy rains along with gusty winds of 50 to 65 kmph are also likely in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The locals and tourists have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings, especially during the rain.

As per the weather experts, this drastic change in weather is due to the cyclonic circulation formed over the southern Gangetic plains, West Bengal coast, and southwest Uttar Pradesh.
