Tamil Nadu Election Result: The trend in Tamil Nadu suggests that actor-turned Vijay-led TVK is set to emerge as the single largest party. The two traditional parties, DMK and AIADMK, are not expected to cross 80 seats for the first time in decades. The newly formed party is likely to get the three-figure mark; however, the party is yet distant behind the required magic number of 118 to form the government. As per the reports, the top brass of Congress has approached the TVK to form their government.

What's Next in Tamil Nadu?

As per the trends, there is a strong chance of a hung assembly in Tamil Nadu if the numbers continue to remain the same. Vijay, throughout his campaign, strongly criticised the MK Stalin-led DMK and raised several issues, including law and order and high inflation. He also asserted that while the DMK is his political enemy, the BJP is its ideological enemy.

Invitation From BJP

Tamil Nadu BJP Vice-President Khushbu Sundar has welcomed TVK to join the NDA alliance. The senior leader stated that Vijay was his younger brother, adding that he has the right vision to develop the state. However, the actor-turned-politician has maintained that he will not join hands with the BJP, terming it as anti-Tamil Nadu.

Will Vijay And Congress Come Together?

The top brass of Congress is in touch with Vijay to extend its support, reported India Today, citing people familiar with the issue. Vijay could also approach the other regional parties, including Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), and Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK). However, this move might trouble him as the smaller parties often demand key portfolios in the cabinet.

A clear picture in Tamil Nadu will only emerge after a few hours when the picture becomes clearer. However, the rise of TVK has potentially ended the dominance of DMK and AIADMK in the state.
