Uttar Pradesh: An unusual and tragic incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur, where over 140 chickens died of heart failure allegedly due to prolonged exposure to high-decibel music played by a DJ.
How Did The incident Occur?
According to a report by The Indian Express, the incident occurred near a poultry farm in Dariyapur village on April 25, where loud music was being played continuously during a wedding procession. The farm owner, Sabir Ali, complained that continuous, high-decibel DJ music caused immediate and severe distress among the birds, leading to the sudden death of approximately 140 chickens over a very short span of time.

"The DJ was playing very loud music. When my chickens started dying, I immediately went to the DJ owner and asked him to lower the volume… I requested him three times, but he did not listen, so I finally called the police control room," The Indian Express quoted Sabir as saying.
He said that out of 5,300 chickens at his farm, 140 died, resulting in an estimated financial loss of Rs 25,700.
Sabir further alleged that after the police arrived, the DJ owner initially agreed to compensate him for the damages. However, once the police officers left, the owner fled the scene. "I managed to take a photograph of the vehicle and have informed the police," he added.
Post-Mortem Examination And Legal Action
The following day, a team of veterinary doctors arrived at the farmhouse and conducted a post-mortem examination of the deceased birds. Mahendra Pratap Singh, the Station House Officer of Baldirai police station, said that according to the post-mortem reports, the chickens died due to heart failure.
