The Police have arrested seven more people, including three women, and apprehended a teenager in connection with the murder of Tarun Kumar, a 26-year-old man, in southwest Delhi's Uttam Nagar.

So far, a total of 16 people have been arrested, including two minors. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday met with the family of Tarun and said that ensuring justice to his family is the "topmost priority" of her government.

After the meeting, she took to X and said, "Delhi government with complete sensitivity, responsibility and firmness stands with the affected family she said and added providing justice to them is the topmost priority of her government".

"The grief of Tarun's family is profound and unbearable. Clear directions have been issued to ensure prompt legal action for strictest punishment to all the culprits in this heinous offence," the CM added in her post.

In a stern warning, CM Gupta asserted that such "inhuman incidents" would not be tolerated in Delhi at any cost.

Earlier on Sunday, a part of the house of one of the accused was razed in a bulldozer action by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

The MCD said that the action was taken against the illegal encroachment as the razed structure was built on a drain.

Tarun was killed after several people assaulted him on March 4 (Holi). On that day, a girl aged 6 years was playing Holi at her terrace and was throwing water balloons when one of them his a Muslim woman.

The woman, then, called several members of her family, prompting an argument and a fight between them. The girl's family rushed into their home and locked it from the inside. However, Tarun was out playing Holi.

Upon his return, he was allegedly cornered by the accused, who assaulted him, eventually leading to his death.
