Links With Multiple Terror Organisations, Online Extremist Networks
According to a report by India Today, the two individuals were highly radicalised and had alleged links with multiple terror organisations, including Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and the Islamic State. The suspects were also associated with online extremist networks such as 'Mission Khilafat' and 'Soldiers of Prophet'.
Officials said the duo had allegedly been 'brainwashed' by online handlers and were in contact with an individual identified as Abu Hufezah, who is believed to have links to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and involved in online recruitment activities.
Plans To Carry Out Toy Car Attack In Delhi
According to the preliminary investigation, the suspects were learning to assemble improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and were allegedly planning an attack in Delhi using a bomb concealed inside a toy car.
Authorities are also probing possible links to a wider pan-India terror module. According to sources, four to five minors in Mumbai, believed to have been influenced by ISIS propaganda, have come under the radar of the Delhi Special Cell. Officials are currently assessing the appropriate course of action in these cases.
A sustained interrogation of the arrested suspects is currently underway to determine the full extent of the network, its funding channels, and potential targets.
