Naidunia Correspondent, Bhopal: Amid claims by the railways about improving passenger facilities, the poor condition of a seat on the Jan Shatabdi Express has raised concerns over maintenance standards. A passenger, Harshit Singh, shared a picture of berth number 61 in coach D-7 of train number 12062 on social media platform X, questioning the condition of the seat.

Passengers Raise Concerns Over Train Maintenance

Singh said that while the railways often claim that trains undergo regular maintenance, the condition of the seat suggested otherwise. He pointed out that passengers pay the full fare but still do not always get comfortable travel experience. Other passengers also said this was not the first such complaint.

Issues such as torn seats, damaged armrests, dirty coaches, faulty charging points, non-functional lights and poor cleanliness in toilets have been reported from time to time. Passengers have urged the railways to conduct regular inspections and address such issues promptly to ensure that train journeys are not only safe but also comfortable for travellers.

Rajdhani Express Targeted In Bihar? Derailment Conspiracy Suspected

In a separate incident reported from Bihar, a suspected attempt to derail the Rajdhani Express was foiled after an empty 1,000-litre water tank was found placed on the railway tracks in Saran district late Friday night. The incident took place near Vijay Rai Tola village under Revilganj police station area on the Chhapra-Ballia railway line, where the engine of the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express collided with the tank.

However, the alertness of the loco pilot prevented a major accident. The pilot immediately controlled the train and informed railway authorities about the obstruction on the track. Following the incident, the train was stopped at Gautamsthan railway station, affecting operations for more than an hour.
