TCS Nashik Case: As the controversy regarding Tata Consultancy Services deepens, the key accused, Nida Khan, still remains untraced by the police. Her husband has repeatedly changed statements about her location.
Khan initially used to work in Nashik but took a transfer to the Mumbai offices of Malad and Hiranandani upon knowing about her husband, Moin Naveed Iqbal Khan's, job in Thane. However, things had taken an unexpected turn after Khan's name emerged in the case, and she fled from the city.
The police questioned her husband on Friday, when he told the cops that Khan left his home on April 14 and had been living with a relative, reported news agency PTI. Upon reaching the location, the police found it closed, and both Khan's and her relative's phones were found to be switched off.
Soon after that, Khan's husband again changed his statements and mentioned that Khan was taken by her aunt to Nashik a few days ago.
How Did The Matter Escalate?
The incident grabbed attention after a young female employee working at the firm's Nashik branch accused the colleague, Danish Sheikh, of establishing a physical relationship with her after falsely promising marriage in 2022—while he was already married to another woman.
Reports said Nida Khan is the sister of Danish Sheikh. She allegedly made derogatory remarks about the complainant's faith and pressured her to change her religion.
It is also alleged that Khan and another individual, Tausif Akhtar, hid the fact from the complainant that Danish Sheikh was already married to another woman.
As the investigation widened, seven other female employees came forward and stated that they were mentally and sexually harassed by some senior employees. Also, the Human Resource Department maintained silence even after knowing the entire matter.
Cops have arrested seven employees, including six men and a woman HR head. Following this, Nida was suspended from the firm on April 9. The suspension letter mentioned a "serious matter," NDTV reported.
The IT firm also directed Khan not to discuss or speak to any other employee of TCS regarding the issue and to "maintain strict confidentiality." "Any failure on your part to cooperate in the matter will result in disciplinary action," it said.
According to Nida Khan's family, she is expecting her first child and has applied for anticipatory bail at a Nashik local court, possibly citing her medical condition as a significant cause.
What Did The TCS Say?
Sharing a post on X, TCS on Friday said that Nida Khan is neither an HR manager nor has been responsible for recruitment. She was serving as a process associate and did not hold any leadership responsibilities.

The IT giant also said that it had not received any complaints through its internal channels on the matter. "A preliminary review of the systems and records pertaining to the Nashik unit indicates that we have not received any complaints of the nature that are being alleged on either our ethics or POSH (prevention of sexual harassment) channels," it said.
