Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay on Wednesday decided to remove astrologer Radhan Pandit as his officer on special duty after facing criticism from the opposition parties. In a circular released shortly after the floor test, the government stated that the appointment of Radhan Pandit has been revoked. The astrologer had predicted that Vijay would contest the assembly polls and would emerge victorious. The reports also suggest that Pandit had also worked with former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
"The orders issued regarding the appointment of Thiru. Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to chief minister (Political) vide in the reference 2nd cited is hereby revoked," the circular issued by the government read. Vettrivel played a role in political communication and coordination since the formation of TVK and is also considered close to the actor-turned politician.

- Radhan Pandit Vetrivel Joseph has 40 years of experience in astrology and numerology
- Earlier last year, he predicted that the actor-turned-politician would contest the elections and register a landslide victory

- He had predicted the electoral fate of MK Stalin, saying that the stars were not favourable for him and that difficult times might lie ahead

- However, he predicted the future of his son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, by predicting that he would grow in the coming times
The opposition leaders, especially from the DMK, strongly criticised the appointment of the astrologer in the newly formed government. Vijay's TVK on Wednesday comfortably passed the floor test by getting support from 144 newly elected MLAs.
