What Led To The Fatal Action?

According to a report by Jagran.com, the deceased father has been identified as 40-year-old Mary Michael, a former truck driver. His two children, who were students at a local private school, were identified as 14-year-old Mary Nirosha and 12-year-old Mary Keniston.

Police stated that Michael was devastated after his wife left him and the children approximately six months ago to live with another man. The emotional toll had severely impacted his livelihood. He had reduced his regular truck driving jobs, taking on only occasional painting work before taking the extreme step.

Shocking Details Emerge

The incident took place on Friday night after Michael returned from the market with dinner for his children. After feeding them, he sent them to bed. Once the children fell asleep, Michael tied electrical wires to their bodies and connected them directly to the main power supply. Immediately after the children died, he utilised the same wire to take his own life.

Michael's Father Was Outside The Room

Michael's 75-year-old father, Anthony Muthu, who resided in the same house, was sleeping outside the room on the night of the incident. Suspicion grew the following afternoon when the bedroom door remained locked, and no movement was heard from inside. The elderly father alerted neighbours and immediately contacted the Pudukottai police.

Upon arriving at the scene, police broke down the door and found the bodies of the father and his two children wrapped in electrical wires on a cot inside. The bodies were sent to the Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
