Karnataka: Just a day after announcing his resignation, outgoing Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had lunch with his deputy, DK Shivakumar, and other senior Congress leaders in Delhi on Friday.
This comes just a day after Siddaramaiah announced his decision to step down from the top post during a breakfast meeting with cabinet colleagues at his official residence in Bengaluru, paving the way for Shivakumar to take over as the next Chief Minister.

Siddaramaiah Meets Congress Top Brass In Delhi
Earlier in the day, Siddaramaiah held a high-level meeting with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal. The meeting focused on the upcoming Karnataka cabinet reshuffle, the Rajya Sabha elections, and key organisational matters.
Soon after the meeting, Kharge took to X to praise Siddaramaiah, stating, "Shri Siddaramaiah's public life has consistently reflected dignity, compassion and a deep commitment to social justice. From humble beginnings to serving Karnataka twice as chief minister, he remained steadfast in his commitment to equality, harmony and the welfare of the marginalised."
"Karnataka and the Congress remain grateful for his contributions to public life. Wishing him good health and the very best in his continued service to people," he added.
Siddaramaiah Shares Photos Of Meeting
Siddaramaiah shared details of the meeting on Instagram, describing it as a 'very good meeting' with Kharge. DK Shivakumar, Minister KJ George, Priyank Kharge, and MLC Dr Yatindra Siddaramaiah were also present during the lunch.

Legislature Party Meeting Tomorrow
Amid mounting speculation over the next Chief Minister, Congress MLA Ashok Pattan stated that Shivakumar is likely to be elected as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party during a meeting on Saturday, Jagran.com reported.
Senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily described the transition as a smooth process, stating that it was planned when Siddaramaiah took office as Chief Minister for his second term.
