  1. New one-shift schedule for Ram Temple donation counting.
  2. Manpower reduced from 40 to 12-14 employees.
  3. Daily donations remain consistent at Rs 18-20 lakh.

Jagran Correspondent, Ayodhya | A new schedule has been introduced for counting the donations of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya, following outrage over the offering theft case. Recently, in a meeting between Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Treasurer Govinddev Giri and bank officials, an agreement was reached to conduct the counting process in one shift. Earlier, the counting was being conducted in two shifts in the iconic temple in the holy city.

The trust and the bank began a trial of one- shift counting. Counting is now being conducted from 9 am to 6 pm. Due to the change in schedule, the bank now requires fewer employees.

Manpower Reduced At Counting Room

Bank sources said that currently, 12 to 14 employees are deployed daily, reduced from 40 staff. When the bank management informed the outsourced counting employees about the decision, many of them were not happy with the new arrangement.

20 voluntarily left the job. One counting employee said that previously, the work was done in two shifts and they would get time for other work to generate additional income. In the new arrangement, the counting process operates from 9 am to 6 am, and they could not get time for other things, he explained.

Counting Hours Increased From 6 Hours To 9

Previously, one shift was for 6 hours, which has now been increased to 9 hours. The new format of counting did not seem appropriate for existing staff. Donations were previously counted from 8 am to 2 pm, and in the second shift from 2 pm to 8 pm.

A bank official dismissed the resignation rumours. He said those who liked the new schedule are working now. "This trial requires fewer people. We want to count donations during bank hours," he added. Currently, only 12 to 14 employees are required in one shift, contrary to 40 employees in two shifts.

Rs 18-20 lakh Daily Donations

According to bank management, there has been no significant change in donations. Previously, the amount used to be between Rs 18-20 lakh. Even today, the daily donations remain within this range, being counted and deposited in the bank.
