Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday hailed the opposition unity, a day after the Women's Reservation Bill failed to pass the Lok Sabha test. At a press conference in Delhi, she alleged that the NDA government tried to damage the federal structure of the country through this bill. While defining it as a victory for the constitution, the Congress leader asserted that the BJP has been planning to "stay in power forever". She further confirmed that the opposition will continue to support the original women's reservation bill passed back in 2023.

- Priyanka Gandhi stated that the unity of the opposition parties saved the core value of democracy, adding that the BJP had tried to damage the federal structure of the country. "What happened yesterday was a huge victory for democracy. The government's conspiracy to alter the federal structure and weaken democracy was defeated and stopped," the congress leader stated.

- She alleged that the amendment bill was tabled to ensure that the BJP continued to stay in power forever, adding that the saffron party does not care for the women.

- On being asked about the BJP marking it as Black Day, Priyanka Gandhi stated that it was a black day for the ruling party as they "felt the shock" for the first time in 12 years. "It's a Black Day for them (centre) because they've felt a shock for the first time, which they deserved. The problems of women today are growing exponentially. The struggle is growing," she asserted.

- The Wayanad MP further assured that the opposition parties will support the bill that was passed unanimously in 2023. "If you want to do something concrete, bring back the bill that was passed unanimously in 2023, supported by all parties," she stated.

- On delimitation, Priyanka Gandhi asserted that the process will snatch the rights of the southern and smaller states, adding that the Congress will never support the bill.
