Chilling Details Emerge In Prayagraj Triple Murder
According to a report by Jagran.com, Shyamlal Gupta (alias Kallu) managed a grocery shop from his home along with farming. He is survived by his wife, who is mentally challenged. The couple had no children.
On Monday night, Shyamlal was at his shop while his sisters-in-law, Indravati (wife of the late Dudhnath) and Amravati (wife of Nebbu Lal), were inside the house. A group of young men arrived and attacked all three individuals using a heavy object.
Shyamlal's wife, who was sleeping inside the house, escaped with only minor scratches. The incident came to light around 5:00 AM on Tuesday when villagers discovered Shyamlal’s body lying near a cot, while the blood-soaked bodies of Indravati and Amravati were found near the hand pump.
Following the incident, Police Commissioner Jogendra Kumar, Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Dr Ajay Pal Sharma, and Yamunanagar DCP Vivek Yadav arrived at the scene with forensic teams and dog squad to investigate.
Investigators found a pair of slippers at the scene, which a sniffer dog tracked to the house of Himanshu Yadav, alias Sunny.
According to the report, Sunny had eloped with Shyamlal's niece in February. However, he returned the next day. While village head Guddu brokered a settlement at the time, the family had filed complaints at the local police station and through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS). Five days before the incident, Sunny had reportedly threatened to kill the family to marry the woman.
Police have arrested four individuals, including Sunny. According to DCP Vivek Chandra Yadav, Sunny, along with two of his associates, killed the three family members as he viewed them as obstacles to the couple's marriage. Police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by Amravati's son-in-law, Lokpati.
How The Incident Unfolded?
According to the police, the accused, Sunny Yadav, has confessed to the crime. He arrived at Shyamlal Yadav's house at 10:30 PM on Monday night, accompanied by accomplices. Shyamlal was at his shop in the house at the time. The dispute occurred while Sunny was buying snacks.
Sunny then attacked Shyamlal with a wooden stake. Hearing the screams, Indravati rushed to his rescue, but the attackers attacked her and killed Amravati as well.
