PM Modi Gujarat Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again questioned the Congress' politics, saying that pessimistic people in the country are making a mockery of self-reliant India. Congress is seeing an opportunity to come to power by spreading chaos and uncertainty, PM Modi said, adding that people in Congress-ruled states are upset with its misrule, which is why the chief minister in Karnataka had to be changed.
His remarks came two days after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing tribal leaders from across the country at an event organised by the Adivasi Congress at the Indira Bhawan in New Delhi, warned that while an "economic tsunami" is coming, the system is also revolting due to public pressure. He claimed that the system that was once "controlled" by PM Modi is collapsing and now providing information about the prime minister and his cabinet colleagues to him.
Congress Does Pessimistic Politics: PM Modi
PM Modi targeted Congress at a public rally held at the Indoor Stadium in Surat after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 18,778 crore in seven different districts of South Gujarat, saying the grand old party is still practising pessimistic politics.
"Those who keep India dependent on other countries are still ignoring and mocking the country's resolve for self-reliance. Congress is seeking opportunities by creating chaos and uncertainty in the country, but the people of the country have now moved beyond this," he added.
Referring to the BJP's victory in West Bengal, the prime minister said that wherever he went, the BJP's victory in Bengal was being discussed. Countering the anarchic statements and claims of Gandhi, PM Modi said that the people of the country have now seen through them and hence continue to support the BJP in every election.
Prime Minister Modi said that the people of the country, including those in Gujarat, have marginalised the Congress. "Wherever they are in power, people are troubled by their misrule. People supported the BJP in the Himachal Pradesh civic elections, Punjab is also now distancing itself from the Congress, and in Karnataka, anger is brewing against the Congress party, leading to the change of chief minister," he added.
